They Sleep We Live was a Collective consisting of Nico, Dirk, Fabian and Jens. Founded in August 2014 as a three-piece, the motivation of this project was initially to write a couple of songs in the spirit of the 90’s screamo-era and play them for joy and passion without knowing where this is going. Mixing our own musical origins with current influences of different directions, we wrote a bunch of songs for a split 7inch with Vi Som Älskade Varandra Så Mycket from Sweden, an album entitled "escaping the measures of time" as well as a one sided split 7inch with Piri Reis from Malaysia.
Quickly we noticed that the music we created and more important the atmosphere within our group shaped our gatherings into a place of great friendship and collective fulfillment. This all happened in a time when other bands everybody was involved in mostly fell apart and so set new time and space for our common project.  At some point in autumn 2016 our friend Fabian joined the band after getting involved recording/producing the band's tunes for the above mentioned releases.
This band was built on friendship and based on diy ethics. Our name can be understood as a proclamation to everybody’s life and the request to make yourself aware, responsible and autonomic here and now.We disbanded in early 2017.
We still speak out for an open minded lifestyle and condemn any, national- and right wing tendencies, racism, homophobia, sexism, or any other kind of oppression.
